What do the official farm-gate prices say for wheat, Saskatchewan in Canada?
Farm-gate prices in Canada, from Statistics Canada. This source is answered live, so the page shows how to ask, not a number.
An official average or median published by a statistics office or regulator, not individual sales.
ProofPrice reads Statistics Canada when you ask, so the answer is always the latest published. It comes with its period, its source and its licence; a range built from records is given only when at least 5 records sit behind it.

Where this comes from
- Source
- Farm product prices, crops and livestock (Statistics Canada table 32-10-0077-01), published by Statistics Canada
- Licence
- Statistics Canada Open Licence. "Subject to this licence, Statistics Canada grants you a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to: use, reproduce, publish, freely distribute, or sell the Information; use, reproduce, publish, freely distribute, or sell Value-added Products; and, sublicence any or all such rights, under terms consistent with this licence." Conditions include accurate reproduction, no suggestion that Statistics Canada endorses the user, and the acknowledgment of source notices below.
- Attribution
- Source: Statistics Canada, Table 32-10-0077-01 Farm product prices, crops and livestock (reference month stated in each answer). Reproduced and distributed on an "as is" basis with the permission of Statistics Canada. Adapted from Statistics Canada, Table 32-10-0077-01 Farm product prices, crops and livestock. This does not constitute an endorsement by Statistics Canada of this product.
- How fresh the source is
- Monthly, not live: Statistics Canada publishes each month's averages about six weeks after the month ends (August 2026 was released on 9 October 2026), and every answer states its reference month
- Limits
- A monthly average price received by farmers for one product in one province, not a range and not the price on one farm: Statistics Canada gives no distribution and no count of sales. There is no Canada total in this table, so a province is needed. Not every product is published for every province or month (confidential or too unreliable figures are blank). Prices are in Canadian dollars in the unit Statistics Canada states for each series (per metric tonne, per hundredweight, per kilolitre, per dozen); we do not convert hundredweights because the table does not define the weight. Grain prices are what farmers received at delivery, not futures or export prices. Figures are revised.
- Rule
- A figure built from records is shown only when at least 5 records sit behind it; official statistics are shown as such, with their reference period. See how we earn trust and the method.
