What do the official childcare prices say for Copenhagen in Denmark?
Childcare prices in Denmark, from Statistics Denmark. This source is answered live, so the page shows how to ask, not a number.
An official average or median published by a statistics office or regulator, not individual sales.
ProofPrice reads Statistics Denmark when you ask, so the answer is always the latest published. It comes with its period, its source and its licence; a range built from records is given only when at least 5 records sit behind it.
Ask for it: /api/v1/childcare?country=DK&area=Copenhagen
Where this comes from
- Source
- Yearly rates of child-care by municipality (Statistics Denmark, StatBank table RES88, Takster for børnepasning), published by Statistics Denmark (Danmarks Statistik)
- Licence
- Statistics Denmark: free re-use including commercial, source credit required (equivalent to CC BY 4.0)
- Attribution
- Source: Statistics Denmark - StatBank.dk/RES88. Own calculations based on data from Statistics Denmark where ProofPrice has processed the figure.
- How fresh the source is
- Annual; the 2026 rates were published on 8 April 2026. Each answer states its year.
- Limits
- A posted municipal rate, not what parents paid: the municipalities set the rates, and the amount a family pays is often lower (sibling and income-based reductions) and is not in this table. No sample size (one published rate per municipality and arrangement). Some cells are suppressed by the publisher (for example day-care for 3 to 5 year olds in Copenhagen); the answer then says so. Rates before public subsidy changes are not adjusted. Logo use is not permitted.
- Rule
- A figure built from records is shown only when at least 5 records sit behind it; official statistics are shown as such, with their reference period. See how we earn trust and the method.
