What does diesel cost in New Zealand today?

Fuel prices in New Zealand, from Ministry of Business. This source is answered live, so the page shows how to ask, not a number.

An official average or median published by a statistics office or regulator, not individual sales.

ProofPrice reads Ministry of Business when you ask, so the answer is always the latest published. It comes with its period, its source and its licence; a range built from records is given only when at least 5 records sit behind it.

Ask for it: /api/v1/fuel?country=NZ&fuel=diesel

Where this comes from

Weekly fuel price monitoring (weekly-table.csv), published by Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), New Zealand
Licence
MBIE, Weekly fuel price monitoring page, "Use of this data": "This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 New Zealand Licence"
Attribution
Source: Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), Weekly fuel price monitoring. Licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 New Zealand Licence. Figures are passed on as published (converted from cents to dollars per litre); the changes are own calculations by ProofPrice.
How fresh the source is
Weekly (Fridays), using the previous week's data; the newest weeks are marked Provisional by MBIE and revised
Limits
A national weekly average, not a pump price at a station: there is no town, region or station detail and no range or sample size. The series is MBIE's 'Adjusted retail price' (a monitoring estimate built from importer price boards and adjusted by MBIE, see its methodology), so it can differ from what one station charges. MBIE publishes Regular Petrol (91) and Premium Petrol 95R only; there is no separate 98 or E10 series. The newest weeks are provisional.
Rule
A figure built from records is shown only when at least 5 records sit behind it; official statistics are shown as such, with their reference period. See how we earn trust and the method.
