What do households in Taiwan pay for electricity?
Household and business energy prices in Taiwan, from Taiwan Power Company. This source is answered live, so the page shows how to ask, not a number.
Posted prices, as published by the official source. They are not individual receipts.
ProofPrice reads Taiwan Power Company when you ask, so the answer is always the latest published. It comes with its period, its source and its licence; a range built from records is given only when at least 5 records sit behind it.
Ask for it: /api/v1/energy?country=TW&energy=electricity
Where this comes from
- Source
- Taipower electricity price tables (residential, non-time-of-use), published by Taiwan Power Company (Taipower), via Taiwan's government open data platform (data.gov.tw, dataset 17060)
- Licence
- Taiwan Open Government Data License, version 1.0 (grants use for any purpose, including derivative products and services, with attribution)
- Attribution
- Source: Taiwan Power Company, "All types of electricity price tables and calculation examples" (Taiwan Open Government Data Platform, dataset 17060), licensed under the Taiwan Open Government Data License, version 1.0 (https://data.gov.tw/license). The average price per kWh for a month's use is calculated by ProofPrice from the published tiers.
- How fresh the source is
- Updated when Taipower changes its tariff; each answer states the date the table took effect
- Limits
- A published tariff schedule, not a count of paid bills, not an offer and not a quote. The average price per kWh is calculated from the residential tier rates only: no tax, surcharge, fixed fee or adjustment is added and none is removed. Residential non-time-of-use tariff only (no time-of-use, business or industrial plans). Electricity only (no gas). No sample size.
- Rule
- A figure built from records is shown only when at least 5 records sit behind it; official statistics are shown as such, with their reference period. See how we earn trust and the method.
