Diesel price record for contracts: Austria
The weekly official diesel price for Austria, kept as a record you can point to: 3 weekly figures from 20 October 2025 to 19 October 2026, with the publisher, the licence and a SHA-256 hash so nothing can change unnoticed.
This page is information, not legal, tax or financial advice, and ProofPrice is not a party to your contract. Have your own adviser check any clause. The figures are an official statistic published by European Commission, Directorate-General for Energy; they are not asking prices and not the price at any one station.
Newest figure
€2.1320 per litre for the week of 19 October 2026. National average pump price of automotive gas oil (diesel) with all duties and taxes included (VAT and excise), euro per litre, prices in force on the Monday of each bulletin week.

How to cite this in a contract
A clause that adjusts a price with the diesel price should name the series, the publisher, the day it is read and what happens if it disappears. Wording you could adapt:
The diesel price for Austria is the national average pump price of diesel (automotive gas oil) published by European Commission, Directorate-General for Energy in Weekly Oil Bulletin: consumer prices of petroleum products inclusive of duties and taxes, for the Monday of the relevant week, in euro per litre, with duties and taxes included, as recorded at https://proofprice.com/fuel-clause/at. If the publisher restates or stops publishing the figure, the parties will use the closest successor series published by the same body.
Cite the publisher as the primary source and this page as the record of the figures. State whether your clause means prices with or without VAT: this series includes all duties and taxes, and many carriers’ own indices are quoted without VAT. The Commission also publishes the bulletin net of duties and taxes; ProofPrice offers it as the tax=without option of the fuel tool. Whether and how a figure is binding is for your contract and your adviser, not for this page.

Changes made by ProofPrice: prices converted from euro per 1000 litres to euro per litre, the change on the previous week and on a year earlier calculated from the bulletin's own price history, and (for countries with their own currency) the national-currency price calculated from the bulletin's euro price and exchange rate.
- Limits: A national average for each Member State, not the price at a station, town or postcode: an area or postcode in a request is answered with the national figure and says so. The Commission states that the prices are "the prices most frequently charged, based on a weighted average" and that "comparisons between prices and price trends in different countries shall be carefully made" because of differences in product quality, marketing practices and market structures. Only Euro-super 95 (petrol95), automotive gas oil (diesel) and LPG (lpg) can be asked for, plus heating gas oil in the extra fields; premium petrol, E10, E85 and natural gas are not published. Some Member States report no LPG or heating gas oil price. Prices are those in force on the Monday of the bulletin week. For Czechia, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Sweden the euro price moves with the exchange rate the Commission used, so changes in euro can differ from changes in the national currency. ES, FR, IT and AT are answered by their own national sources; when the Spanish, French or Italian source cannot be reached and ProofPrice holds no recent copy of it, this bulletin's national figure for that country is given instead and the answer says so. In the history tool, sample_size is null (the bulletin gives no count of stations).
- How fresh: Weekly: Monday prices, published that week. Newest day in our library for this source: 19 October 2026.
